Hyderabad: Union Secretary for Social Justice and Empowerment Sudhansh Pant reviewed welfare schemes in Telangana, assessing their implementation and outreach during a high-level meeting at the Secretariat on Monday.

He conducted the review along with Special Chief Secretary Sabyasachi Ghosh and senior state officials. The meeting examined the execution of centrally sponsored initiatives aimed at marginalised communities.

Key schemes under review included pre-matric and post-matric scholarships, the civil rights protection framework, construction of SC and BC hostels, and rehabilitation programmes for transgender persons. Officials also discussed the National Action for Mechanised Sanitation Ecosystem (NAMASTE).

Sudhansh Pant said the state had made notable progress in implementing welfare schemes in Telangana. However, he noted that further improvement remained necessary to expand reach and impact.
