Hyderabad: Traffic restrictions are in force across key stretches in Hyderabad today for Ambedkar Jayanti celebrations at Necklace Road and Old Ambedkar Junction.
Police imposed restrictions from 10 am to 8 pm. However, traffic is likely to build up from the morning hours. As a result, commuters may face congestion around Necklace Road and Lower Tank Bund.
Authorities said they will implement diversions based on ground conditions. Therefore, motorists should plan alternate routes.
Traffic from Saifabad towards Liberty diverts at Iqbal Minar towards Ravindra Bharathi. Similarly, vehicles from Iqbal Minar towards Liberty move via the Telangana Thalli flyover.
Vehicles travelling from Basheerbagh towards Secretariat take Hope Hospital Lane towards Crystal Junction and IT Junction. At the same time, traffic from Liberty towards Old Ambedkar Junction moves via BRK Bhavan Lane.
Traffic restrictions active across key junctions
Traffic from Upper Tank Bund towards Liberty diverts at Ambedkar Statue towards Secretariat. Meanwhile, vehicles from the Secretariat towards Necklace Road take the North-East Gate and Banyan Tree route.
Traffic from VV Statue towards Liberty turns at Necklace Rotary towards IMAX, Mint Lane and adjoining roads. Consequently, movement near central junctions remains affected.
RTC buses on routes including 113, 6, 83, 7Z and 8A operate on diverted routes. They do not pass through Ambedkar Junction and Upper Tank Bund.
Heavy congestion is expected at Ambedkar Junction, Secretariat Junction, Iqbal Minar, Necklace Rotary, NTR Marg, BRK Bhavan Lane and Adarsh Nagar Road. Therefore, commuters should avoid these areas and allow extra travel time.
