Hyderabad: TPCC official spokesperson Bandi Sudhakar Goud on Wednesday demanded that BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao issue an unconditional apology to Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy. He warned that Congress workers would obstruct KTR’s public movements if the apology was not made.
TPCC slams KTR for ‘irresponsible remarks’ amid political heat
Addressing the media in Hyderabad, Goud condemned KTR’s remarks as “indecent, irresponsible, and derogatory.” He accused KTR of making personal attacks out of frustration over the BRS party’s downfall. “Had Sonia Gandhi not granted Telangana, what would be the state of your family today?” he asked, adding that KTR must apologise to mend political relations.
Goud said Congress handed over Telangana in 2014 with a surplus budget, but the BRS-led decade-long rule led to large-scale financial mismanagement. “KCR’s family acted like vultures, looting lakhs of crores and pushing the state into deep debt,” he alleged.
He claimed that the Congress government is now clearing ₹60,000 crore in unpaid contractor bills left behind by the BRS regime, exposing its financial misconduct. Goud also criticised the BRS for failing to fulfil the Telangana movement’s key promises funds, water, and jobs and said Congress is now working to deliver on them. Goud emphasized that in the current climate, KTR should apologise for the missteps.
On Krishna river water issues, he defended CM Revanth Reddy’s criticism of BRS and ridiculed KTR for avoiding debate. “If BRS had courage, they should have stayed in the Assembly. Instead, they ran away,” he said, reiterating that KTR must indeed apologise to regain trust.
Taking aim at internal dissent within BRS, Goud referenced MLC K. Kavitha’s recent allegations. “Why is your family hiding when your own sister is exposing your opportunism and corruption?” he questioned, daring KTR to respond publicly with a formal apology.
He concluded with a stern warning: “KTR must apologise to Rahul Gandhi and Revanth Reddy. If not, Congress will block him everywhere.”
