TGGENCO in-charge promotions issued for 64 engineers

Hyderabad: TGGENCO issued in-charge promotions to 64 engineers across electrical, mechanical and civil wings as part of administrative arrangements ahead of the expected summer power demand in Telangana.

The corporation considered the TGGENCO in-charge promotions under the leadership of Deputy Chief Minister and Energy Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka. Principal Secretary (Energy) Navin Mittal and TGGENCO Chairman and Managing Director S. Harish also took part in the decision-making process, along with the functional directors.

As per the press note dated January 25, 2026, TGGENCO granted the promotions purely on an ad hoc basis. The move aimed to address immediate administrative needs across several engineering cadres within the corporation.

Out of the 64 TGGENCO in-charge promotions, 24 engineers belonged to the electrical wing, while 17 came from the mechanical wing. In addition, 23 engineers from the civil wing received promotions. The cadre-wise distribution included four promotions from superintending engineer to chief engineer and 11 from divisional or executive engineer to superintending engineer.

Further, TGGENCO promoted 37 officers from assistant divisional engineer or assistant executive engineer to divisional or executive engineer. Moreover, the civil wing accounted for 12 promotions from assistant engineer or assistant assistant engineer to assistant executive engineer.

TGGENCO issued the promotion orders on January 24, 2026. Subsequently, the corporation directed the promotees to assume charge at their respective places of posting at the earliest. TGGENCO stated that the decision focused on strengthening operations to ensure an uninterrupted power supply across Telangana during the summer season. The press note was issued by S.V.
