Hyderabad: IT and Industries Minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu urged Singapore companies to explore investment opportunities in Bharat Future City. He made the appeal during a meeting with a high-level Singapore delegation at the Dr BR Ambedkar Telangana Secretariat on Wednesday.
The delegation was led by Augustine Lee, Permanent Secretary for Energy and Trade in Singapore’s Ministry of Trade and Industry. Sridhar Babu sought Singapore’s support in encouraging companies to consider Telangana for future investments.
The minister also invited Singapore firms to participate in the development of Telangana’s semiconductor ecosystem. He said Singapore’s technological and industrial experience could support semiconductor fabrication, ancillary industries and an integrated supply chain in the state.
Sridhar Babu explained the steps taken by Telangana to strengthen its position as a global investment hub through international partnerships. He said the government was working systematically to create an ecosystem for high-value industries, research and development and technology-driven enterprises.
Accordingly, the minister highlighted opportunities in IT and IT-enabled services, emerging technologies, semiconductors and electronics. He also pointed to advanced manufacturing, life sciences, biotechnology and aerospace.
Bharat Future City offers opportunities across multiple sectors
Sridhar Babu also highlighted green technology and renewable energy as areas open to investment. In addition, he cited logistics and supply chains, urban infrastructure, research and development, skill development and innovation.
The minister asked the Singapore delegation to create greater awareness among companies about Telangana’s investment opportunities. He also urged the delegation to encourage Singapore-based firms to explore the state as an investment destination.
Bharat Future City is being developed by the Telangana government as a new urban and economic growth centre. The minister sought Singapore companies’ participation in its development as part of the state’s broader investment efforts.
Meanwhile, Sridhar Babu invited the Singapore government and companies to the Telangana Rising Global Summit–2026. The event is scheduled for December 7, 8 and 9.
He sought Singapore’s support in facilitating wider participation from its government and leading companies. Bharat Future City will feature prominently in the summit’s investment-focused agenda.
TGIIC Managing Director Shashank attended the meeting. Dr Francis Chong, Senior Director in Singapore’s Ministry of Trade and Industry, also participated.
Jean Yi, Director of the India Directorate, and Autrey Toon, Director of South Asia Enterprise, were among the other participants. The delegation discussed investment opportunities and areas for greater cooperation with Telangana.
