Hyderabad: Welfare Minister Adluri Lakshman Kumar said the State government would focus on better learning and basic needs at SC ST institutions. He reviewed welfare schemes through the Project Management Unit, or PMU, on Saturday.
He held the review at the Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Telangana Secretariat. The work covered SC and ST Gurukuls, Social Welfare hostels and Ashram schools. Meanwhile, Adluri told officials to send uniforms, footwear, textbooks and other key items to students within a fixed time. He said there should be no delay in giving students these supplies.
SC ST institutions told to clear pending stock
Adluri told field staff to hand out stock that had already reached district hubs. Also, he asked department heads to find blocks in buying and supply. He said they should fix such issues fast.
To stop more delay, he told them to work with District Collectors when needed. The Minister said the State wanted better learning and basic facilities in SC ST institutions. Further, he told officials to make sure stock at district hubs reached students at once.
He also asked department heads to act on gaps that slowed the flow of supplies. The review focused on faster work and better links between state and district teams.
Special Secretary for Welfare Sabyasachi Ghosh attended the review. Social Welfare Department Secretary Vijayaendra Bhoi and other senior officials also took part.
