Hyderabad: Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla called for paper industry green growth through modern technology, recycling and eco-friendly production practices. He said the sector should balance economic growth with environmental sustainability and social responsibility.
The Governor addressed the 65th Annual General Meeting and Conference-2026 of the Federation of Paper Traders Association of India on Saturday. The Telangana Paper Merchants Association hosted the conference at Novotel HICC in Hyderabad.
Shukla said paper remained important for education, publishing, printing and packaging despite changing technological landscapes. He stressed innovation, digitalisation and energy efficiency to strengthen the sector. He also called for responsible use of resources across the industry.
Paper industry green growth needs innovation
Shukla urged trade bodies to encourage young entrepreneurs and support wider social development. He called on the industry to contribute to education, healthcare and skill development. The Governor said progress should benefit every section of society. He also expressed confidence that the conference would encourage new ideas across the paper trade.
In addition, he said the event could promote investment and collaboration in the sector. The Governor linked green growth with sustainable practices, technological adoption and social responsibility.
