Hyderabad: Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka directed officials to prepare a comprehensive Telangana revenue mobilisation plan. He asked them to effectively use available state resources to increase government income.
Bhatti, who also holds the Finance portfolio, called for special focus on the HILT Policy. He also asked officials to attract more investment into the tourism sector. The Deputy Chief Minister chaired a high-level review on resource mobilisation at the Secretariat on Saturday.
Civil Supplies and Irrigation Minister N. Uttam Kumar Reddy attended the meeting. Chief Secretary Sanjay Jaju and other senior officials also participated.
Bhatti directed officials to strengthen the state economy by effectively using government lands. He asked departments to take measures to enhance the value of these assets. He also called for an investor-friendly environment and greater private participation in tourism projects.
Telangana revenue mobilisation focuses on state assets
Bhatti directed officials to identify additional sources of government revenue. He also asked them to expedite projects designed to attract investments. Further, departments were told to coordinate closely on the use of government assets and lands. The objective was to secure maximum financial benefits from available resources.
The Telangana revenue mobilisation review also focused on applications under the HILT Policy. Bhatti directed officials to give priority to applications for parks where there were no objections. He asked them to issue the required clearances at the earliest.
In addition, the Deputy Chief Minister instructed officials to mobilise revenue already due to the government without delay.
