Shabbir Ali urges voters to participate in SIR process

Hyderabad: Telangana Government Advisor Mohammed Ali Shabbir urged every eligible voter to participate in the SIR process and safeguard voting rights. He asked citizens to verify their names in the electoral rolls. He also urged them to complete registration, correction or verification without delay.

Shabbir Ali made the appeal at a Special Intensive Revision (SIR) awareness programme at Imperial Garden on Bodhan Road in Nizamabad. Maulana Jafar Pasha, Maulana Shah Jamalur Rahman and Taher Bin Handan attended the event. Minority community members, Congress leaders, party workers, youth and women also participated.

Shabbir Ali said voting is a fundamental democratic right. Meanwhile, he urged every eligible citizen to enrol as a voter. He also asked people to remain vigilant against duplicate voter registrations and cooperate with the Election Commission’s revision exercise.

SIR process requires participation from every eligible voter

He urged citizens to submit the required documents without delay. Further, he appealed to every family in minority-dominated areas to verify voter details. He also encouraged newly eligible youth to register as voters.

Shabbir Ali alleged that attempts were underway to remove votes that favour the Congress, particularly minority votes, in Congress-ruled states. He claimed such actions had affected the party in West Bengal, Assam and Bihar. He urged minorities and Congress supporters to remain alert and protect their voting rights.

Additionally, Shabbir Ali said political parties, public representatives, social organisations and party workers should create awareness about the SIR process. He urged them to visit villages, wards and colonies and educate people. He said they should ensure that no eligible voter remains left out of the electoral rolls.

Mayor Uma Rani, DCC president Nagesh Reddy, Nizamabad town Congress president Ramakrishna, former Deputy Mayor Faheem and several Congress leaders and local representatives attended the programme.
