Rozgar Mela empowers youth with employment and self-reliance: Kishan Reddy

Hyderabad: Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy said the Rozgar Mela employment initiative was empowering unemployed youth through jobs and self-reliance while distributing appointment letters to newly recruited candidates at Rail Kalarang in Secunderabad on Saturday.

The Union Minister handed over appointment letters to 218 candidates recruited across six Central Government departments during the 19th tranche of the nationwide Rozgar Mela. The recruitment drive was conducted simultaneously at 47 locations across the country, where nearly 51,000 appointment letters were distributed to selected candidates.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the recruits virtually and described the occasion as a significant milestone for the country’s youth. He said the recruits joining sectors such as Railways, Banking, Defence, Health and Education had become part of India’s journey toward becoming a “Viksit Bharat.”

The Prime Minister said government employees carried responsibilities not only toward their families but also toward society and the nation. He advised recruits to maintain integrity in public service and improve their skills through platforms such as iGOT Karmayogi.

Rozgar Mela employment drive boosts youth opportunities

Kishan Reddy said lakhs of young people had secured Central Government jobs through Rozgar Mela drives since 2022. He stated that the Centre was actively filling vacancies across ministries, departments and Public Sector Undertakings to create more employment opportunities.

The Union Minister added that Indian youth were increasingly transforming from job-seekers into job-creators. He said startups and the Make in India initiative were contributing significantly to employment generation, especially in the manufacturing sector.

Referring to his recent visits to five countries, Prime Minister Modi highlighted growing global interest in India’s technological and economic progress. He said sectors such as semiconductors, artificial intelligence, advanced manufacturing, agriculture, green technology and critical minerals were creating new opportunities for Indian youth.

Congratulating the recruits, Kishan Reddy said government service offered an opportunity to serve the nation over the next two to three decades. He urged them to work with sincerity and dedication while also respecting the sacrifices made by their parents.

Senior officials, including South Central Railway General Manager Sanjay Kumar Srivastava, Principal Chief Personnel Officer Siddharth Kati and Secunderabad Divisional Railway Manager Dr. R. Gopalakrishnan, attended the programme. Earlier, Srivastava described the Rozgar Mela as a defining moment for youth entering government service.
