Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy assured that the government will support families affected by the Musi River Front Project and ensure that no one suffers losses due to development works.
He said the government will provide proper compensation and rehabilitation to those who lose land or houses under the project. The Chief Minister stressed that authorities will not leave anyone homeless.
Revanth Reddy spoke after laying the foundation stone for the Radial Road-2 interchange connecting the Budvel Layout. He later inaugurated an Eco Park at Kotwalaguda and addressed a public meeting in the area.
The Chief Minister said many large infrastructure projects require land acquisition. These include the Regional Ring Road, radial roads and future high-speed rail corridors.
Revanth Reddy outlines Musi River Front development vision
He said the government recognises that people may face hardship when they lose land. However, he assured that the government will provide enough compensation to help them purchase land elsewhere.
Revanth Reddy also said the government will construct houses for affected families under the Indiramma housing programme within their respective constituencies.
The Chief Minister said the Musi River has suffered severe pollution over the years. Therefore, the government plans to transform the riverfront and improve living conditions around it.
He said the state will develop the Musi River Front along the lines of riverfront projects in Ahmedabad, Delhi and Uttar Pradesh.
According to the Chief Minister, the project will also generate employment and strengthen economic activity in the area.
Revanth Reddy said the government plans to promote night tourism along the riverfront and create business opportunities for local residents.
He also said the government is planning a major urban development project called Bharat Future City near Shamshabad.
The Chief Minister added that the region may become a future hub for bullet train connectivity linking cities such as Bengaluru, Amaravati, Pune and Chennai.
Earlier, Revanth Reddy visited Eco Hill Park and inaugurated the Birds Aviary facility as part of the programme.
Members of Parliament Mallu Ravi and K. Vishweshwar Reddy attended the event. Legislative Council Chief Whip P. Mahender Reddy and other public representatives were also present.
