Ramachandra Rao seeks clarity on water share talks

Hyderabad: BJP state president Ramachandra Rao demanded that Chief Minister Revanth Reddy clarify the details of the water share talks he held with Union Minister C.R. Patil and explain which irrigation projects were discussed.

Addressing the media at the BJP state office on Friday, Ramachandra Rao said the Chief Minister should inform the people about Telangana’s rightful share of water. He urged the state government to clearly explain the outcome of the discussions and the steps being taken to safeguard the state’s interests.

The BJP leader expressed concern that the proposed 35 TMC Naveli reservoir in Karnataka and the 20 TMC Gundrevu project in Andhra Pradesh could affect Telangana’s allocation of 15.9 TMC of water.

Ramachandra Rao said the government should remove any uncertainty surrounding the proposed projects and ensure that Telangana’s water interests are protected.

He also announced that BJP national president Nitin Nabin will visit Telangana from June 28 to June 30. During the visit, he will inaugurate the BJP state office in Rangareddy district on Sunday and virtually open BJP district offices in nine more districts.
