Rajendranagar Police conduct cyber awareness programme for 520 participants

Hyderabad: Rajendranagar Zone Police conducted a cyber awareness programme at the Telangana State Institute of Rural Development (TGIRD), educating 520 participants on preventing online fraud and responding to cybercrime.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) S. Sreenivas led the awareness session, which was attended by SCERT State Resource Persons, Mandal Parishad Development Officers (MPDOs), and agriculture sector professionals.

The DCP explained emerging cyber threats, including digital arrest scams, fake investment schemes, job frauds, phishing attacks, and UPI payment scams. He advised citizens to follow safe online practices and immediately report cyber financial fraud through the national helpline 1930 during the “Golden Hour” to improve the chances of recovering lost money.

Participants urged to promote cyber awareness programme

S. Sreenivas appealed to participants to become “Cyber Safety Ambassadors” and spread awareness about cybercrime prevention in educational institutions, government departments, and rural communities.

Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) T. Srinivas, Inspector M. Muthu Yadav, and Sub-Inspector S. Mallesham of the Zonal Cyber Cell also attended the programme.
