Hyderabad: A Fast Track Special POCSO Court at Rajendranagar convicted a 22-year-old delivery executive in the Attapur Stalking Case and sentenced him to three years of simple imprisonment. The court also imposed a fine of Rs.3,000 and awarded compensation of Rs.1 lakh to the minor victim.
The case originated in September 2021 after the victim’s mother lodged a complaint with Attapur Police. Following the complaint, police registered a case and launched an investigation.
Officials identified the accused as Thokali Suresh, a delivery executive. After examining the evidence, the court found him guilty in the Attapur Stalking Case involving stalking and sexual harassment of a minor girl.
Attapur Stalking Case ends in conviction
Hyderabad Police said coordinated efforts by investigators, prosecutors and the Bharosa Centre played a key role in securing the conviction. The Bharosa Centre provided counselling and support services to the victim and her family throughout the trial process. Meanwhile, investigating officers and legal teams worked closely to present evidence before the court.
Police officials stated that retired Sub-Inspector Sevya Nayak and Station House Officer K. Nageshwar Rao contributed significantly to the investigation. Furthermore, Special Public Prosecutor Venkateshwar Reddy, legal counsellors T. Dhruti Choudhury and A. Chandu, and court personnel assisted during the proceedings.
Attapur Stalking Case monitored by senior officials
Senior officers from the Women Safety Wing monitored the progress of the case until its conclusion. Officials said DCP Women Safety Dr. Lavanya NJP and ACP Women Safety Prasanna Lakshmi closely supervised the proceedings. In addition, Bharosa Centre officials coordinated victim support measures during the trial.
Police noted that sustained coordination among investigators, prosecutors and victim-support teams helped ensure the successful conclusion of the Attapur Stalking Case.
