Hyderabad: Bharat Rashtra Samithi spokesperson Manne Krishank walked out of Sangareddy Central Jail at Kandi on Saturday morning after spending 16 days in custody.
Wearing a T-shirt carrying the slogan “Back to Question,” Manne Krishank addressed media persons outside the jail after his release.
He thanked the BRS leadership for supporting him. He also appreciated the party’s legal team for fighting his case.
Manne Krishank alleges political targeting
Meanwhile, Krishank alleged that authorities arrested him and filed fabricated cases because he questioned the Congress government.
He said the cases would not stop him from raising issues against the ruling party.
The BRS leader said police labelled him a habitual offender for questioning alleged irregularities in mobile phone procurement for Anganwadi workers.
He also raised allegations regarding mining operations linked to Raghava Constructions at Kothwalguda.
Krishank alleged that authorities jailed him for exposing corruption.
He accused the Congress government of targeting BRS leaders instead of focusing on law and order issues in the State.
Referring to recent incidents, Krishank claimed unidentified persons opened fire near an ATM in Hyderabad before escaping.
He also referred to another firing incident reported at a jewellery store in Karimnagar.
The BRS spokesperson further alleged that even senior police officials faced security concerns because of inadequate protection at official residential quarters.
Krishank also suspected that the Revanth Reddy government was tapping the phones of BRS leaders.
He claimed police officials questioned him about his media contacts, relatives and their whereabouts during the investigation.
Krishank said the questioning strengthened allegations raised earlier by BRS Deputy Floor Leader T. Harish Rao regarding alleged phone tapping by the Congress government.
