BRS leader Manne Krishank arrested in fresh cybercrime case

Hyderabad: BRS leader Manne Krishank was arrested in a fresh case registered by the Hyderabad Cybercrime Police. Police later took Manne Krishank to Gandhi Hospital for a medical examination.

The cybercrime police registered the case on October 5 after Congress leader Mettu Saikumar filed a complaint. The FIR named Krishank, ‘MR Media Telangana’ and several others as accused.

Police registered the case under Sections 353(2) and 352 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). The case followed Krishank’s allegations and comments concerning Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s family.

BRS leaders alleged that the government targeted Krishank after he questioned alleged corruption and business dealings involving the Chief Minister’s family. They also alleged that Krishank had questioned alleged benami investments worth Rs.50,000 crore linked to the family.

Manne Krishank case draws KTR’s response

Meanwhile, BRS leaders accused the government of using police cases to target Krishank and suppress the Opposition’s voice. They made the allegations after police registered the latest case against him.

BRS working president KTR also criticised the action. He alleged that authorities registered cases against Krishank after he questioned corruption allegations involving Revanth Reddy.

In a social media post, KTR alleged that questioning Revanth Reddy’s alleged corruption had led to cases against Krishank. He also accused Revanth Reddy of acting as an unlimited ATM for Rahul Gandhi and referred to the Congress leader’s 420 election promises.

KTR further said the BRS would continue raising corruption allegations against the Congress government despite the cases. He told Revanth Reddy to file as many cases as he wanted and said the BRS would continue exposing alleged corruption. KTR also said more issues would come to light.

Following the arrest, police took Krishank to Gandhi Hospital for a medical examination. The Hyderabad Cybercrime Police continued their investigation into the case.
