KTR calls Warangal protest over farmers’ betrayal charges

Hyderabad: BRS working president and MLA K. T. Rama Rao called for a Warangal farmers protest, accusing the Congress government of failing to deliver on promises made to farmers.

He alleged on Tuesday that the ruling party had “deceived farmers in every possible way.” He said commitments made under the Warangal Farmers’ Declaration remained unfulfilled.

KTR announced that he would attend a protest meeting in Warangal on May 6. He said the Warangal farmers protest would highlight issues faced by the farming community.

Warangal farmers protest planned over farm distress issues

KTR claimed that farmers have faced multiple problems since the Congress came to power. He cited shortages of fertilisers and seeds as key concerns.

He also pointed to procurement delays and frequent power cuts. Moreover, he alleged a resurgence of distress among farmers, including suicides.

Calling for a united struggle, he said the BRS would stand firmly with farmers. Meanwhile, local leaders highlighted disruptions in paddy and maize procurement across Warangal district.

They said protest programmes would be intensified in the coming days. As a result, party leaders began mobilising support for the Warangal farmers protest.

Warangal farmers protest linked to voter roll monitoring

KTR also reviewed party strengthening plans in Warangal during the meeting. He directed party cadres to monitor the Election Commission’s voter list revision process closely.

KTR said the Special Intensive Revision programme should be treated as a priority. He asked leaders to ensure that no irregularities occur during the process.

Further, he directed them to prevent fraudulent voter registrations in any polling booth. At the same time, he urged leaders to ensure that all eligible voters are enrolled.

He also asked cadres to ensure that no voter is deprived of voting rights. Therefore, he suggested preparing a list of Booth-Level Assistants for coordination.

He instructed leaders to work closely with government officials during the revision exercise. He said this effort would strengthen organisational preparedness ahead of future elections.
