Hyderabad: BRS Working President and former minister K.T. Rama Rao said the KCR government established TIMS hospitals to provide world-class healthcare facilities to people in Hyderabad.
KTR inspected the ongoing construction works at the Sanathnagar TIMS hospital on Friday and explained the features of the project and the efforts made by the previous government.
He said Gandhi Hospital and Osmania Hospital had earlier handled most of the patient burden in Hyderabad. However, he said TIMS hospitals now offered healthcare facilities with international standards.
According to KTR, former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao envisioned providing AIIMS-level medical services in Hyderabad.
He said the Sanathnagar TIMS hospital was constructed on a 22-acre campus with an estimated expenditure of nearly Rs 1,200 crore.
TIMS hospitals aimed to transform public healthcare
KTR said the hospital included 300 ICU beds and facilities to provide treatment for thousands of patients.
He stated that the hospital also had 16 operation theatres along with MRI and CT scan diagnostic facilities.
According to him, the project included special research centres and research blocks for kidney-related diseases.
KTR recalled that the previous government established TIMS hospitals in Sanathnagar, LB Nagar and Alwal. He also said another 2,000-bed super-speciality hospital was under construction in Warangal.
He said the government had expanded NIMS and established 350 Basti Dawakhanas across the state to improve public healthcare access.
KTR alleged that the Sanathnagar TIMS hospital would have become operational two years ago if the previous government had continued in power.
He demanded that the present government complete the remaining works immediately and make the hospital available for public use.
KTR also said the hospital included facilities such as a dharmashala for attendants, parking space for 1,000 cars and an emergency ramp.
