Komatireddy vows to expose KCR’s decade-long misrule in Assembly

Hyderabad: Roads and Buildings Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy on Sunday said the Congress party would expose former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao’s ten-year misrule in the Assembly and challenged him to present the accounts for the Kaleshwaram project.

Speaking at a Congress Foundation Day event at Rajiv Gandhi Chowrasta in Valigonda mandal, Komatireddy said the party’s core values of democracy, inclusion, and social justice continue to guide its governance in Telangana. He urged workers to take these ideals to the grassroots level.

Challenges KCR to present Kaleshwaram accounts

Komatireddy criticised KCR for failing to address public grievances during his tenure and for skipping Assembly sessions despite drawing a salary as Leader of the Opposition. “We are ready to place our governance record before the House, but those who ruled earlier must first explain their own actions,” he said.

The minister also dismissed BRS leaders’ remarks, stating that regional parties without ideological foundations tend to collapse over time. He reiterated that the Congress remains committed to welfare-centric governance, inspired by leaders like Indira Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi.

Warning the Centre against altering the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS), Komatireddy called it a constitutionally backed welfare programme. He announced that the Congress would launch a protest from January 5 if the renaming proposal moved forward.

The Foundation Day event drew a large gathering of senior leaders, public representatives, and party workers.
