Komatireddy to attend National Chintan Shivir on road infrastructure

Hyderabad: Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari has invited Telangana Roads & Buildings Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy to the National Chintan Shivir–2025. The conference will take place on December 19 and 20 at Yashobhoomi, New Delhi.

The event will focus on connectivity planning, regional master plans, road network strategies, and infrastructure funding. It aims to improve coordination between the Centre and States on key infrastructure goals.

Telangana to highlight road vision and flagship projects

Komatireddy welcomed the invitation and called the Shivir a strong example of cooperative federalism. He confirmed Telangana’s active participation and said the State would share its experience on highway upgrades, digital land acquisition, and road safety improvements.

According to the Minister, Telangana plans to upgrade its 49,000-km road network into 4-lane and 6-lane corridors. The State’s long-term goal is to expand this network to 1.15 lakh km under the guidance of Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy.

At the Shivir, Telangana will showcase major projects such as the Regional Ring Road, radial road development, new national highway corridors, and the Mannanur–Srisailam elevated corridor. Komatireddy also listed high-impact proposals like the eight-laning of NH-65 (Hyderabad–Vijayawada) and bullet train corridors connecting Hyderabad to Amaravati, Chennai, Bengaluru, Machilipatnam Port, and Nagpur.

He underlined the need for strong Central support to execute these large-scale projects. A consistent dialogue between the Centre and States, he said, would help solve operational challenges and speed up execution.

Komatireddy noted that Telangana’s new Road Policy was unveiled during the recent global summit. He reiterated the State’s commitment to working with the Centre, regardless of political differences, in the interest of public welfare.

As per Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s directions, senior officials will represent Telangana at the Shivir. The Minister has instructed departments to prepare a comprehensive agenda outlining State-specific issues.

Finally, Komatireddy praised Nitin Gadkari for leading India’s infrastructure growth and said the Centre’s policies are driving long-term economic development.
