Komatireddy pledges to make Nalgonda GGH Telangana’s no.1 hospital

Hyderabad: Roads and Buildings Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy has vowed to make Nalgonda Government General Hospital (GGH) the top public healthcare facility in Telangana.

On Wednesday, he inaugurated a new Special Disability Certification Centre at the hospital, built at a cost of ₹30 lakh. He said the facility includes drinking water, restrooms, and ramps for accessible entry. The centre will ease the process of issuing disability certificates.

Komatireddy stated that the hospital performs 700 to 800 deliveries each month, making it one of the busiest maternity centres in the state. He said that only Osmania and Gandhi hospitals in Hyderabad see higher delivery volumes.

He assured that pending disability certificates would be issued soon. This will help eligible individuals access pensions and welfare benefits without further delay.

The Minister said Nalgonda GGH has advanced equipment, including baby warmers and laparoscopic systems. Patients receive free surgeries that normally cost between ₹2 and ₹3 lakh.

He urged citizens to choose government hospitals over private ones for maternity services. He emphasised that the hospital now offers world-class infrastructure and care. Komatireddy added that the government will meet any further infrastructure needs. He also said the Prateek Foundation will support the hospital wherever necessary.

“Our goal is to make Nalgonda Government General Hospital the number one healthcare facility in Telangana in terms of medical services,” Komatireddy said.

District Collector Ila Tripathi, DRDO Shekhar Reddy, RDO Y. Ashok Reddy, Hospital Superintendent Dr. Aruna Kumari, RMO, and other senior officials attended the programme.
