Hyderabad: Telangana Rakshana Sena chief Kalvakuntla Kavitha alleged that BRS leader T. Harish Rao was trying to take control of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS).
She made the allegation while speaking to the media at the Telangana Rakshana Sena office in Banjara Hills on Thursday.
Kavitha claimed that Harish Rao was also attempting to undermine former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao’s political legacy. She compared the alleged move with N. Chandrababu Naidu’s alleged betrayal of N.T. Rama Rao.
According to Kavitha, Harish Rao recently held discussions with MLAs from Medak. She alleged that he told them KCR’s political legacy should not pass to K. T. Rama Rao (KTR).
Kavitha further alleged that Harish Rao maintained links with the BJP and Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy. She claimed those links were part of an effort to gain control of the BRS.
She said she had evidence of Harish Rao’s alleged links with the BJP. Kavitha also claimed that he frequently met a senior BJP leader at Raj Pushpa Sky Villas in Hyderabad.
She alleged that Harish Rao and others recently held a secret meeting in London. According to her, the participants reached an understanding during the meeting.
Kavitha demanded that Revanth Reddy order Harish Rao’s arrest under provisions relating to quid pro quo if there was no understanding between them.
She also raised allegations about the supply of milk to private educational institutions and corporate hospitals during Harish Rao’s tenure as Health Minister.
Kavitha alleged that Narayana and Chaitanya educational institutions received milk worth ₹5 crore every month. She claimed the two institutions generated ₹960 crore through the transactions over eight years.
Harish Rao allegations extend to government and Telangana interests
Kavitha further alleged that milk was supplied to corporate hospitals, including Kamineni, Yashoda and KIMS.
She questioned why Revanth Reddy had stopped mentioning Harish Rao in connection with the phone-tapping and Kaleshwaram issues. She said the Chief Minister had earlier raised allegations against him.
The Telangana Rakshana Sena chief also attacked Revanth Reddy over his alleged links with Andhra leaders. She alleged that the Chief Minister had become a “captive” and was acting as an agent of Andhra Pradesh.
Kavitha accused the government of compromising Telangana’s interests. She objected to the appointment of persons from Andhra Pradesh as chairman and vice-chairman of the Brahmin Parishad.
Referring to Basavaraju Srinivasa Raju, she alleged that the chairman was “staunchly anti-Telangana”. Kavitha questioned his appointment, citing his alleged opposition to Telangana during the statehood movement.
She also criticised the appointment of the wife of an Andhra actor as a member of the Yadagirigutta board. Kavitha questioned the inclusion of people from Andhra Pradesh in the management of a temple built with contributions from Telangana people.
Kavitha then referred to an alleged road accident involving the son of a Jana Sena MP. She alleged that the Chief Minister had failed to act after the youth allegedly drove a ₹6-crore car and fatally hit a 25-year-old woman from Odisha.
She further alleged that the MP’s name was not mentioned in the FIR. Several columns, she claimed, had also remained blank.
Kavitha warned that she would not remain silent if the Chief Minister failed to protect Telangana’s interests.
She said she would continue to raise issues concerning the people of Telangana.
