Jupally Krishna Rao conducts surprise inspections of Kollapur hospitals

Hyderabad: Minister Jupally Krishna Rao conducted surprise inspections at two government hospitals in Kollapur on Saturday and reviewed medical services and patient facilities.

The minister personally rode a Bullet motorcycle to the Area Hospital in Kollapur town. During the visit, he interacted with patients and enquired about the treatment and services provided at the hospital.

Jupally questioned hospital staff about the attendance of doctors and employees. He also asked officials about the hospital superintendent. Doctor Srinivas identified himself before the minister.

The minister then asked whether the same superintendent was handling both hospitals. He remarked that managing two hospitals alone would become difficult.

Later, Jupally rode the Bullet motorcycle to the Mother and Child Care Centre located on Pentlavelli Road and conducted another surprise inspection.

Kollapur hospitals inspection focuses on facilities

Speaking to the media, Jupally Krishna Rao said the government had sanctioned a 100-bed hospital in 2018 at a cost of Rs.22 crore. He stated that all major works had been completed and the hospital was ready for inauguration.

The minister said Health Minister Damodar Rajanarasimha would soon inaugurate the facility. However, he directed the contractor to complete the remaining minor works immediately.

Jupally also said authorities had arranged a dedicated power line to ensure uninterrupted electricity for the dialysis centre. He added that full-scale power supply would begin from Saturday.

The minister announced plans to arrange an additional ambulance and install more beds and air-conditioners at the dialysis centre. He further said CSR funds would help improve hospital facilities.

Jupally Krishna Rao also reviewed food arrangements for patients at the hospital. Since the present contractor belonged to another region, the minister asked officials to provide the responsibility to local people to create employment opportunities.

He spoke to Nagarkurnool District Collector G.V. Hemanth Keshav Patil over the phone regarding the issue.

The minister also sanctioned Rs.5 lakh for construction of a bus shelter near the hospital after dialysis patients reported difficulties while waiting for buses.

He directed the municipal chairperson, vice-chairperson, and councillors to regularly visit the hospital and monitor medical services provided to patients.

Municipal chairperson Reddy Jyothi Satyam, vice-chairman Rahim Pasha, councillors, and Congress leaders participated in the inspection.
