Hyderabad: Tourism, Culture and Excise Minister Jupally Krishna Rao launched a free electric vehicle service for pregnant women and mothers in Kollapur.
The service aims to ease transportation difficulties faced by patients visiting the Maternal and Child Care Hospital.
Patients travelling from the town bus stand to the hospital in Ramapuram outskirts often faced transport problems.
Officials arranged the eco-friendly vehicle with support from Hyderabad-based organisations Good Universe and Arcesium.

Speaking on the occasion, Jupally Krishna Rao said the free transport facility would help poor patients coming from remote areas.
He appreciated the organisations for supporting safe and convenient transportation for hospital visitors.
The minister also drove the electric battery vehicle during the programme.
Organisation representatives Anushka and Vamsi attended the event along with hospital superintendent Srinivasulu.
Municipal Chairperson Reddy Jyothi Satyam, councillors Sujatha and Karni Shiva also participated in the programme.
