Jubilee Hills police bust overseas job racket

Hyderabad: An overseas job racket bust was carried out by Jubilee Hills Police, who dismantled a fraudulent network that cheated job seekers by promising overseas employment and collected lakhs of rupees.

Police arrested two members linked to the firm “Trivial Chapter,” which allegedly operated without authorization and targeted unemployed youth seeking jobs abroad.

The accused lured candidates with offers of work visas to European countries, including Greece and Romania. They collected amounts ranging from ₹4 lakh to ₹5 lakh from each victim. However, after receiving payments, they issued forged offer letters and cut off communication.

Investigators said the overseas job racket bust exposed a pattern of deception where victims lost contact with the firm after making payments.

Overseas job racket bust reveals social media fraud network

Police said the accused used social media platforms such as Instagram and Facebook to present themselves as a legitimate overseas consultancy. They did not possess a valid Recruitment Agent licence from the Ministry of External Affairs.

Instead, they targeted individuals seeking employment in Greece, Italy and Serbia. To gain trust, they shared fake work authorization letters created using online templates.

The overseas job racket bust showed how the accused used digital platforms to expand their reach and mislead victims.

Overseas job racket bust leads to key arrests

On April 14, police arrested Lanka Nirupama, identified as Vice President (South Zone) of Trivial Chapter, and Mamidi Arun Raj, Regional Manager (Telangana).

Meanwhile, police teams launched a search for eight absconding accused, including the firm’s founder, CEO and visa department head.

Officials said records indicated that the firm had been involved in similar fraud cases earlier within the KPHB police station limits.

The overseas job racket bust marked a significant step in curbing organised employment fraud in the city.

Overseas job racket bust prompts public advisory

Police issued an advisory urging citizens to remain cautious while applying for overseas jobs. They asked candidates to verify recruitment agents through the official eMigrate portal before making payments.

They also advised job seekers to carefully examine offer letters and avoid dealing with unauthorised consultants.

Officials said vigilance remained essential to prevent such frauds. They added that strict action would continue against those exploiting job seekers.
