Hyderabad: The Telangana government issued orders on Wednesday transferring several IPS officers following a major reorganisation of Hyderabad police commissionerates. Except for Siddipet, all the transfers are related to commissionerates within the capital region.
As part of the overhaul, the government created a new Future City Commissionerate. At the same time, it renamed the Rachakonda Commissionerate as the Malkajgiri Commissionerate. In addition, authorities restructured the Hyderabad, Cyberabad and Malkajgiri commissionerates and added new areas to the Future City jurisdiction.
Further, the government changed the names and boundaries of several zones across four commissionerates. While some zone names remained unchanged, their parent commissionerates changed. Therefore, officials reflected these administrative adjustments as transfers in the orders. Moreover, with the Hyderabad Commissionerate’s jurisdiction expanding, the government divided it into two ranges for administrative convenience and posted two senior officers.
