Hyderabad: Hyderabad Police Commissioner V.C. Sajjanar has cautioned voters against SIR-2026 OTP scams, warning that cyber fraudsters may misuse the Special Intensive Revision (SIR)-2026 process to steal personal and financial information.

SIR-2026 OTP scams target voters
Sajjanar urged people not to share OTPs, banking details or other confidential information over phone calls under any circumstances. Further, he advised citizens to remain alert if callers claim to represent election authorities.
He asked people to disconnect suspicious calls immediately instead of sharing personal information. Additionally, he urged victims or those receiving suspicious calls to report the incident by calling the national cybercrime helpline at 1930.
Sajjanar warned that sharing even a single OTP carelessly could expose bank accounts and personal information to cybercriminals. He appealed to the public to stay vigilant and protect themselves from online fraud during the SIR-2026 process.
⚠️ Your vote is precious. So is your personal information. Don’t let scammers steal your identity in the name of SIR-2026.
