Hyderabad: Telugu states rains are likely for the next two to three days under the influence of a low-pressure area over the Bay of Bengal. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecast light to moderate showers across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
Coastal Andhra and Rayalaseema may receive thunderstorms and lightning in several areas. Along the coast, strong winds could reach 40 to 50 kmph and make the sea rough.
The disaster management authorities advised fishermen not to venture into the sea. The warning aims to prevent accidents during the period of rough weather.
Meanwhile, Telangana may also receive light to moderate rain in several districts. Officials expect gusty winds of around 40 kmph in parts of the state.
Residents may get relief from humid conditions as clouds cover the sky. However, authorities advised people to stay alert during gusty winds and rain.
People should avoid standing near weak structures, trees and electricity poles. Farmers should also protect agricultural produce from rain and moisture.
Telugu states rains to intensify across several Telangana districts
According to Telangana Weather Man, atmospheric changes caused by daytime heat and humidity may trigger moderate to heavy rainfall. Rain-bearing clouds may develop through the heating process and produce showers across parts of the state.
Western, central and eastern Telangana could receive scattered rain from afternoon through the following morning. Some areas may also experience thunderstorms and lightning during this period.
The affected districts include Sangareddy, Vikarabad, Medak, Kamareddy and Nirmal. Nizamabad, Adilabad, Rangareddy and Mahabubnagar may also receive rain.
Siddipet, Yadadri-Bhuvanagiri, Jangaon and Warangal are also likely to see showers. Mahabubabad, Khammam, Suryapet, Bhadradri-Kothagudem and Nalgonda also remain on the weather watch.
Some locations in these districts could receive moderate to heavy rain from afternoon to night. Officials urged residents, especially farmers and motorists, to exercise caution during thunderstorms and strong winds.
