Hyderabad: Hyderabad City Police conducted an awareness meeting with function hall owners and managers in Kulsumpura Division of Golconda Zone, stressing strict compliance with noise pollution rules and measures to prevent public disturbance.
The meeting took place on Sunday evening and brought together function hall operators from across the division.
Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police B. Krishna Goud addressed the gathering and urged managements to follow all guidelines issued by the government and police authorities.
He said police frequently receive complaints about loud music, DJ systems, loudspeakers operating beyond permitted hours, firecracker use, traffic congestion and improper parking around function halls.
Noise pollution rules and public safety highlighted
Krishna Goud instructed function hall owners to strictly adhere to the provisions of the Noise Pollution (Regulation and Control) Rules, 2000.
He directed them not to permit loudspeakers, DJ systems or high-volume music beyond the limits and timings prescribed by law.
Furthermore, he asked managements to ensure that their events do not cause inconvenience to residents living in nearby localities.
The officer also stressed the need for proper parking management.
Vehicles should not block roads, footpaths or public spaces during functions, he said.
In addition, function hall operators must take all necessary precautions to maintain public order and safety during events.
They must also comply with all permissions and conditions issued by competent authorities.
Police warn of action for repeated violations
The Additional DCP warned that police would take stringent legal action against any function hall found violating the guidelines.
He said authorities would treat acts causing public disturbance seriously.
Moreover, repeated violations could lead to legal proceedings under relevant laws.
Police may also recommend cancellation of trade licences and permissions for establishments that repeatedly violate the rules.
Meanwhile, function hall owners and managers assured police that they would follow the prescribed guidelines and cooperate in maintaining public order.
Station House Officers from Tappachabutra, Gudimalkapura, Kulsumpura and Mangalhat police stations attended the meeting along with Detective Inspectors and Sub-Inspectors.
A large number of function hall owners and managers also participated in the programme.
Hyderabad City Police appealed to function hall operators and the public to cooperate in maintaining peace and ensuring a better quality of life for residents.
