Hyderabad: Former Minister, BRS senior leader and Siddipet MLA Harish Rao launched a sharp attack on Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Monday, accusing the Congress government of mismanaging Telangana during its two-year rule. Speaking at Telangana Bhavan, he alleged that the administration lacked transparency and operated like a “private limited” system. He said the Chief Minister focused on praise and criticism instead of governance. Rao also argued that Praja Bhavan had turned into a venue for parties and entertainment rather than public grievance work.
He said the government failed to honour its manifesto pledge of daily public interaction and stated that the Chief Minister held only one darbar after taking charge. Rao highlighted a complaint by a farmer from Karimnagar and claimed that officials sent a message saying the issue was resolved although the problem continued. He questioned the fall in state revenues over the past two years and criticised the administration’s performance across sectors.
Harish Rao expands criticism to welfare, corruption and policy claims
Harish Rao said the previous BRS government implemented welfare schemes effectively and kept Telangana ahead in ease of doing business. He criticised the current liquor policy and warned of social impact. He raised concerns about pending Kalyana Lakshmi dues of ₹980 crore and alleged that several leaders collected informal taxes. Rao argued that Congress must take responsibility for what he described as organised corruption.
He added that the government failed to issue accreditation cards or welfare support to journalists during the two-year period. Rao concluded that the administration focused on celebrations instead of development and did not maintain transparency in major decisions.
