Cyberabad SHE Teams catch 55 for public indecency, rescue 337 children

Hyderabad: Cyberabad SHE Teams conducted 176 decoy operations between January 17 and 23, catching 55 individuals red-handed for indecent acts in public places. Petty cases were registered in 45 of those instances, while others received counselling. The teams also handled 18 complaints from women victims during the week.

According to DCP (Women and Child Safety Wing) K. Srujana, the Anti-Human Trafficking Unit (AHTU) rescued 337 children during the same period under Operation Smile-XII. The rescued group included 329 boys and eight girls. Police filed 119 cases under the Juvenile Justice Act and Child Labour Act across various zones in the Cyberabad Commissionerate.

Family Counselling and CDEW Centres helped reunite 30 families during the week. Officials also intensified public outreach. Awareness drives conducted by AHTU and SHE Teams reached over 4,260 people. These sessions covered human trafficking, child abuse, cybercrime, eve-teasing, child rights, and emergency helpline numbers such as 181, 1098, 100, and 1930.

Cyberabad Police urged citizens to remain vigilant and report offences promptly to improve public safety and child protection.
