Cyberabad SHE Teams catch 31 offenders and rescue child beggar

Hyderabad: Cyberabad SHE Teams caught 31 people for indecent behaviour in public places and rescued a five-year-old child during a week-long enforcement drive from May 31 to June 6.

The Cyberabad Women and Children Safety Wing conducted 118 decoy operations during the period. Officers caught 31 offenders red-handed and registered 34 petty cases.

Police also counselled several offenders. They received 21 complaints from women through various channels.

The Cyberabad Anti-Human Trafficking Unit (AHTU) rescued two victims and arrested two accused in a case under the Prevention of Immoral Traffic Act (PITA).

In another operation, the AHTU rescued five-year-old Uday Kumar from a traffic signal in Hitech City, Madhapur. Officers produced the child before the Child Welfare Committee in Ranga Reddy district. Authorities later shifted him to a rescue home for rehabilitation.

Cyberabad SHE Teams strengthen enforcement and counselling

Family Counselling Centres and CDEW Centres mediated marital disputes and reunited 37 families during the week.

Meanwhile, Cyberabad SHE Teams and the AHTU expanded preventive outreach programmes across the commissionerate. Awareness sessions reached 1,897 participants.

Officials discussed human trafficking, child trafficking, eve-teasing, cyber harassment, child marriages and child rights. They also explained issues such as child labour, stalking, begging, cyberbullying and cyber fraud.

In addition, officials highlighted emergency helplines, including 181, 1098, 100 and 1930.

The programmes aimed to improve awareness and strengthen support systems for women and children across Cyberabad.

Cyberabad SHE Teams promote safety awareness

Under the 99-day “Praja Palana – Pragathi Pranalika” campaign, the Cyberabad Women and Children Safety Wing organised a Women’s Safety Awareness Session at PBEL City in Peeramcheruvu on Saturday.

ACP S Krishna Prasad, Inspector Y Hanuman Goud and SI Shyam Sundar addressed the programme. The Society for Cyberabad Security Council (SCSC) supported the event.

Officials explained the role of SHE Teams, Bharosa Centres, CDEW Centres and the Anti-Human Trafficking Unit.

They also created awareness about the T-Safe App, workplace safety provisions under the POSH Act and child protection measures under the POCSO Act.

The event ended with an interactive session. Participants raised safety concerns. Officials encouraged them to use available support services and help create a safer environment for women and children.
