Hyderabad: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy directed Congress legislators to take the government’s welfare programmes, development initiatives and key decisions directly to people. He also asked them to regularly attend the Assembly and actively participate in debates and discussions.
Revanth Reddy issued the directions while chairing a Congress Legislature Party meeting at the Assembly Committee Hall on Thursday.
The Chief Minister said the ongoing Assembly session was intended to explain the government’s 1,000 days of governance to the public. However, he accused the principal opposition BRS of attempting to prevent the House from functioning.
“We are conducting the Assembly session to explain the government’s 1,000 days of governance to the people. The principal opposition BRS conspired to prevent the House from functioning. Though the party lost power, its arrogance has not diminished,” Revanth Reddy said.
Congress MLAs government schemes outreach stressed
Revanth Reddy accused BRS members of abusing police personnel and public representatives. He also alleged that opposition members had disrupted the smooth functioning of the House.
The Chief Minister criticised BRS members for removing their T-shirts in the presence of women officials. Moreover, he accused them of making objectionable remarks against the Speaker.
Revanth Reddy asked Congress MLAs to strongly counter what he described as opposition conspiracies against the government. He directed legislators to take the alleged plot to the people as part of their public outreach.
The Chief Minister also appreciated legislators who, according to him, had brought the alleged conspiracy to public attention. In addition, he stressed regular attendance during the Assembly session. Revanth Reddy directed Congress legislators to take an active role in debates and discussions in the House.
The Chief Minister’s directions also focused on increasing public awareness of the administration’s decisions and development work. He asked the legislators to communicate Congress MLAs government schemes outreach more effectively among people.
