Hyderabad: The Cyberabad Municipal Corporation handled 81,315 Ganesh idol immersions over six days at 53 sites within its limits. CMC data showed that 66,530 idols stood below three feet. Another 14,785 idols stood above three feet.
Kukatpally Circle had the highest count, with 23,501 immersions in six days. Kompally Circle came next with 11,526, while Serilingampally Circle logged 8,495. Meanwhile, Jeedimetla Circle recorded 7,145 immersions, and Miyapur Circle had 6,256. Chintal logged 4,408, while Ameenpur recorded 4,274.
In addition, Allwyn Colony had 4,015 immersions, and Patancheru logged 3,661. Nizampet recorded 3,257, while Narsingi had 3,024. Madhapur logged 2,828 immersions. Dundigal followed with 1,846, and Medchal recorded 1,079.
CMC said the Ganesh idol immersions needed round-the-clock work at all 53 sites. CMC deployed joint support teams from sanitation, engineering, traffic and public safety departments. To keep the sites clean, civic teams quickly cleared flowers and pooja items. They also removed debris left by the immersion work near water bodies.
Ganesh idol immersions remained under close watch
The CMC Commissioner told field teams and senior officers to keep a close watch on each site. The Commissioner also asked them to keep enough machines and staff on duty. In addition, the Commissioner told teams to work closely with the line departments. The joint work covered sanitation, engineering, traffic and public safety.
CMC said its monitoring and clean-up work would stay active at all 53 immersion points. The work would continue until the immersion process ended. As the work went on, sanitation teams cleared items left after idol immersion. CMC also kept staff and machines at the sites as needed.
The six-day Ganesh idol immersions took place across several CMC circles. The local counts, however, varied widely. Kukatpally alone had the largest number in the CMC data. By comparison, Medchal had the lowest count among the circles listed.
However, CMC kept all 53 sites under watch and continued clean-up work. The civic body said the effort would run until the immersion process was over.
