Hyderabad: Vigilance officials of the Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWSSB) seized 12 illegally installed motors during inspections in Vivekananda Nagar Colony, under Division 22 of Gayatri Nagar ward in Kukatpally Zone, on Thursday. The team identified and removed motors that were illegally connected directly to drinking water supply pipelines.
The vigilance team conducted the inspections from 8am to 10am in coordination with the area manager. The water board said directly drawing water from supply pipelines using motors could reduce water pressure and leave other consumers without adequate water.
Water board warns of action against violators
The board said inspections would continue to curb the use of illegal motors. It warned that action would be taken against those violating the rules.
