Hyderabad: Water Board officials seized 17 illegal motors during early morning inspections in Secunderabad as part of an enforcement drive.
Officials carried out raids in O&M Division 17 areas around Gandhinagar at 4 am during water supply hours. They detected multiple violations where consumers drew water by attaching motors directly to pipelines.
Consequently, teams removed the unauthorised connections and seized the equipment during the operation.
Illegal motors crackdown targets unauthorised water usage
Officials said such practices disrupt fair water distribution. Meanwhile, they warned that attaching motors to pipelines violates regulations.
Authorities stated they will continue enforcement and act against violators. In addition, repeat offenders will face a ₹5,000 fine and criminal cases.
The Water Board urged residents to avoid such practices. Further, officials advised consumers to approach concerned officers if they face supply-related issues.
People can also lodge complaints through the customer care number 155313. Therefore, officials said they will resolve genuine grievances through proper channels.
