Two-year-old girl dies after cyanide ingestion at jewellery shop

Hyderabad: A two-year-old girl died after accidentally consuming cyanide at a jewellery shop in Chintal on Saturday. The incident occurred within the limits of Jeedimetla police station and came to light later.

According to local sources, the child had accompanied her parents to the shop to purchase gold. Meanwhile, shop staff had reportedly left a bottle of cyanide used to test gold purity unattended on a table.

The girl consumed the toxic chemical and collapsed at the shop. Her family rushed her to a nearby hospital, where she died while receiving treatment.
