Telangana extends registration deadline for Chief Minister’s Overseas Scholarship

Hyderabad: The Telangana Minorities Welfare Department has extended the online registration deadline for the Chief Minister’s Overseas Scholarship Scheme for Spring Season 2026. Eligible students can now apply until July 15, 2026, at 5 pm. The earlier deadline was July 1.

The scheme supports minority students pursuing postgraduate and doctoral (Ph.D.) programmes at foreign universities. Eligible destinations include the United States, United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, Singapore, Germany, South Korea, Japan, France and New Zealand. Selected candidates can receive financial assistance of up to ₹20 lakh. They are also eligible for one-way airfare of up to ₹60,000 or the actual fare, whichever is lower.

Chief Minister’s Overseas Scholarship registration extended

The revised deadline applies to students who secured admissions between January 1, 2026, and June 30, 2026. Eligible candidates can submit applications through the Telangana ePASS portal. Officials advised students to apply well before the deadline. They also clarified that no further extension would be granted.

Further, officials said they would verify all certificates after the application process. They warned that authorities would initiate criminal action if they found fake certificates. Applicants must submit original graduation or postgraduation transcripts from their institutions. Additionally, parents must appear in person at the concerned District Minorities Welfare Officer (DMWO) offices during file submission.
