Hyderabad: Telangana heavy rains were forecast for four days from September 20 to 23, the weather department said. It issued yellow alerts for 15 districts in the state.
The alerts covered Adilabad, Nirmal, Nizamabad, Nalgonda and Suryapet districts. Mahabubabad, Warangal, Hanumakonda, Jangaon and Siddipet were also placed under the yellow alert.
Rangareddy, Hyderabad, Medak, Kamareddy and Nagarkurnool districts were also covered by the warning. Meanwhile, the weather department said moderate rainfall was expected across the state today and tomorrow.
Telangana heavy rains linked to likely low-pressure area
A low-pressure area was likely to form over the Bay of Bengal by September 19. The weather system was expected to move towards the south Odisha and north Andhra Pradesh coasts.
The developing weather system could bring Telangana heavy rains from September 20 to 23. The department indicated a four-day spell of heavy rainfall across parts of the state.
