Kishan Reddy says Centre support for Telangana will continue

Hyderabad: Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy said Centre support for Telangana would continue. He also ruled out any BJP alliance with the BRS. Kishan Reddy said the Centre would take a positive view on coal linkage for the Yadadri Thermal Power Plant. He asked Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao to explain the plant’s coal plan.

He asked why the plant was not built to use coal from Singareni. A recent state review said Yadadri needs G9 coal, which Singareni does not now supply. Kishan Reddy said Centre support for Telangana would not depend on party ties. However, he said the BJP would fight the BRS in the state. A same-day report carried the same stand.

Centre support for Telangana includes Yadadri issue

Kishan Reddy said the Centre would look at the Yadadri coal request in a positive way. He also raised questions about the plant site and fuel choice. The Telangana government had asked officials to get G9 coal from Mahanadi Coalfields and Coal India. Revanth Reddy had also asked Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka to take up the matter with Kishan Reddy.

Kishan Reddy then spoke about Khairatabad. He said the BJP had lost there earlier because of mistakes. He claimed the party would win the seat now. He said the BJP did not “steal votes” but won people’s trust. He also rejected claims that the party was behind voter deletions. In recent remarks, he defended the Election Commission on the issue.

Kishan Reddy also criticised Congress leader Rahul Gandhi. He said change in national politics was in the hands of voters. He further accused Gandhi of attacking constitutional bodies and National Security Advisor Ajit Doval. The supplied remarks did not include Gandhi’s response.

Kishan Reddy also spoke about the voter-roll revision in Telangana. He asked Revanth Reddy to explain what had gone wrong, according to the Congress. He also pointed out that Congress had won eight Lok Sabha seats in Telangana. His point formed part of his reply to claims about the revision process.

Kishan Reddy criticised Revanth Reddy over remarks involving Lord Shiva and Lord Rama. He alleged that those comments had hurt Hindu sentiments. He also accused Congress of dividing people on social and regional lines. A same-day report carried a similar charge from him.

The Centre support for Telangana statement remained linked to the Yadadri coal issue. Kishan Reddy said the Centre would help state projects while fighting Congress and BRS politically.
