BRS party not sincere towards BC community, says Kavitha

Hyderabad: Telangana Jagruthi president and former MLC K. Kavitha on Friday alleged that the BRS party had never shown genuine commitment to the Backward Classes (BCs). She urged the BC community to reconsider their support for BRS in the ongoing municipal elections.

Speaking to the media in Hyderabad, Kavitha questioned whether senior leaders had already distanced themselves from the party. She said her own political party would be launched soon and that the formal process could be completed within three months.

Kavitha slams BRS leadership, questions intent on BC policy

Kavitha criticised BRS leaders for staying inactive during the municipal election campaign. “Why are state-level leaders not touring the entire state? If they are not campaigning, how can they claim to represent the whole state?” she asked.

She accused the BRS of lacking a clear stand on BC reservations. “The party should clarify whether it supports the BC community or not. How can it give a ticket to someone like Madhav Reddy, who filed a petition against BC reservations?” she questioned.

Kavitha condemned the party’s decision to field Madhav Reddy in the elections and reiterated that the move reflected poorly on BRS’s commitment to social justice.

Calls for Congress to fulfill promises, slams divisive remarks

Kavitha also demanded that the Congress government deliver on its promises to BCs and ensure the allocation of funds under a dedicated sub-plan. She said the administration must act decisively to address the needs of the community.

Referring to Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s recent remarks on former CM K. Chandrashekar Rao’s community background, she said targeting any specific group was inappropriate. “KCR’s contributions to the Telangana movement cannot be erased,” she stated.
