Hyderabad: BJP MP M. Raghunandan Rao on Sunday asserted that the Bharatiya Janata Party would come to power in Telangana after two years. He said justice to the Palamuru region would be possible only under a BJP government.
Addressing a meeting of key BJP constituency leaders at the IB Guest House in Patancheru of Sangareddy district, Raghunandan Rao said debates in the Assembly should focus on core issues rather than personal attacks. He advised leaders of both the ruling Congress and the opposition BRS to engage in meaningful discussions on public concerns.
The meeting was attended by BJP MLC Anji Reddy and district BJP president Godavari, along with senior party leaders.
Raghunandan Rao criticised both the Congress and the BRS for failing to discuss Palamuru and Krishna river water issues in the Assembly. He alleged that instead of policy-based debate, the House witnessed only mutual accusations. He said neither the BRS during its ten-year rule nor the Congress during its two-year tenure had done justice to Palamuru, a region known for large-scale migration.

The MP remarked that people who expected relief because Chief Minister Revanth Reddy hails from Palamuru were disappointed. He alleged that both the Congress and the BRS caused harm to the region and lacked a clear development vision.
Raghunandan Rao said the BJP was pursuing a nationwide river interlinking programme aimed at providing water to every field and employment to every hand. He accused state leaders of the Congress and BRS of being more focused on alleged corruption than governance.
He further alleged that contradictory PowerPoint presentations by ministers and opposition leaders in the Assembly confused the public. According to him, there was no real difference between the earlier BRS government and the present Congress government on Krishna water distribution and the Palamuru project. He noted there were misleading claims. He also questioned the absence of nearly 20 MLAs during the Assembly discussion on these key issues.
