Hyderabad: Bhongir MP Kiran Kumar Chamala condemned what he described as misinformation targeting Revanth Reddy.
He alleged that political opponents were running a campaign to tarnish the Chief Minister’s image.
The Congress MP said certain social media handles and a media platform had linked Revanth Reddy to the rejection of Telangana Congress in-charge Meenakshi Natarajan’s Rajya Sabha nomination.
He termed the allegations false and misleading.
Misinformation targeting Revanth Reddy sparks CCS complaint
Chamala said he had lodged a complaint with the Hyderabad Central Crime Station (CCS).
He sought action against those responsible for the alleged campaign.
According to him, the posts sought to mislead the public.
He also alleged that the campaign sought to damage the Chief Minister’s reputation.
Further, the MP urged authorities to identify the individuals and organisations involved.
He sought a comprehensive investigation into the matter.
Meanwhile, Chamala said officials should register an FIR if the inquiry establishes wrongdoing.
He asserted that law enforcement agencies must bring those spreading falsehoods for political gain to justice.
The Congress leader added that his party would not tolerate attempts to mislead the people of Telangana through deliberate misinformation.
