Hyderabad: DGP C.V. Anand directed Telangana Police to make AI policing, technology and data-driven analysis top priorities to stay ahead of changing crime patterns.
Addressing senior police officers at the Integrated Command Control Centre in Banjara Hills on Saturday, Anand reviewed the progress of digital policing initiatives.
He directed all units to implement and regularly update the Crime and Criminal Tracking Network and Systems and the Interoperable Criminal Justice System.
The DGP also reviewed NCL, e-Sakshya, e-Forensics and ICJS integration. He examined Telangana’s performance on national policing portals as well.
Anand asked officers to make greater use of technology-enabled applications. He also stressed regular updates to digital policing systems.
The DGP called for stronger management of court cases. He also directed officers to follow legal procedures strictly.
Furthermore, Anand stressed regular training in investigation, court procedures and legal matters. He said such training should form a routine part of police functioning.
District and City Training Centres, Police Training Colleges, battalions and the Police Academy must keep their programmes relevant to emerging policing challenges.
AI policing and training to strengthen police response
Anand felicitated personnel from units that performed well across various crime parameters. Hyderabad emerged as the top performer in Cluster-I.
Ramagundam secured the top position in Cluster-II. Nalgonda led Cluster-III, while Suryapet topped Cluster-IV.
The respective teams received certificates of appreciation for their performance.
The DGP also appreciated young IPS officers for developing AI-enabled applications. He praised other technology-based innovations aimed at improving internal efficiency and public service delivery.
Anand urged the officers to develop more such initiatives. He said technology should continue to support monitoring and improve police services.
During a leadership session for IPS officers of the 2013 batch and above, Anand stressed leadership, integrity and team spirit.
He called for coordinated action among all police wings to tackle emerging crime trends. According to Anand, AI policing, data-based crime analysis and professional training can improve police efficiency.
He also stressed rational deployment of manpower. Together, these measures would help Telangana Police respond more effectively to emerging challenges.
DG (L&O) Mahesh Bhagwat, Jails DG Sowmya Mishra and RBVRR Police Academy Director Abhilasha Bisht attended the meeting.
Cyber Security Bureau Director Shikha Goel, Women Safety Wing DG Charu Sinha and EAGLE Director Sandeep Shandilya also participated.
Police Commissioners, district SPs and other senior officers attended the meeting.
