Adluri Laxman asks BJP to focus on farmers issues

Hyderabad: State Minister Adluri Laxman Kumar criticised BJP MP Dharmapuri Arvind for making personal remarks against Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and asked BJP leaders to focus on farmers issues.

Addressing a media conference at Gandhi Bhavan in Hyderabad on Tuesday along with Rajya Sabha member Anil Kumar Yadav, the minister said public representatives should discuss farmers issues, public welfare and state rights instead of targeting individuals.

Laxman Kumar alleged that BJP leaders were not speaking about paddy procurement, maize farmers or agricultural concerns. He challenged Dharmapuri Arvind to speak with the Centre and secure support prices for maize farmers.

The minister said Arvind’s political family had earlier risen through the Congress party. He added that attacking Congress leadership now reflected political frustration.

Laxman Kumar said the Congress party functioned through democratic coordination unlike parties that operated on instructions from Nagpur.

He also objected to Arvind’s remarks about Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s family members. The minister questioned whether Congress leaders should also speak about alleged irregularities involving Arvind’s family in Nizamabad.

The minister said Revanth Reddy rose from grassroots politics to become MLA, MP, Telangana Congress president and eventually Chief Minister with public support.

Laxman Kumar further questioned why Dharmapuri Arvind had not raised farmers issues with Prime Minister Narendra Modi or the Union Agriculture Ministry despite overflowing paddy stocks and farmers facing difficulties across Telangana.

He also demanded that BRS leader G. Jagadish Reddy reveal names while alleging that some Congress leaders were in touch with the BRS.

Rajya Sabha member Anil Kumar Yadav mocked Dharmapuri Arvind over his comments against the Chief Minister and alleged that BJP leaders were ignoring public concerns.

He said BJP should resolve its internal disputes instead of criticising other parties. Anil Kumar Yadav also stated that Congress had earlier given important positions to Arvind’s father.

The Rajya Sabha member criticised the BJP-led Central government over rising petrol and diesel prices. He questioned why the Centre was burdening citizens with policy failures.
