Hyderabad: Telangana Youth Congress State General Secretary Almas Khan condemned the alleged crackdown on students protesting at Jantar Mantar in Delhi. He said the government’s response to students seeking justice exposed its unwillingness to face accountability.
He alleged that the government used force whenever students raised questions. He also claimed authorities detained opposition leaders who stood with the protesters instead of addressing their demands.
The Youth Congress leader further alleged that police assaulted Congress leaders during the protests. He claimed police also assaulted and detained him outside the BJP office in Hyderabad while he participated in a peaceful demonstration.

“Students may be silenced temporarily, but their questions cannot be detained. The louder the state tries to suppress the voice of the youth, the louder #ChhatronKiGoonj will become,” he said.
He said the Youth Congress would continue its campaign against what he described as repression. He alleged that the organisation would maintain a record of every action taken against protesters and would pursue democratic means to respond under the leadership of Rahul Gandhi.
The Youth Congress leader also demanded the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. He said people would continue to question those in power over the concerns raised by the protesting students.
