Hyderabad: Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) in-charge Chairman and Managing Director D. Krishna Bhaskar on Tuesday said the company’s greatest strength lies in its workforce. He praised the discipline and dedication of workers who have supported Singareni’s legacy for 137 years.
Speaking at the Singareni Foundation Day celebrations at Singareni Bhavan in Hyderabad, Krishna Bhaskar reaffirmed the company’s focus on safety, welfare, and skill development. He said existing welfare programmes would be improved further. Moreover, he emphasised that safer working conditions would be ensured with collective responsibility for accident prevention.
CMD highlights workers’ role and future priorities
Despite harsh weather, market fluctuations, and technical obstacles, the company has grown steadily. Krishna Bhaskar credited this to the commitment of miners, efficient supervision, and strong leadership. He noted that adherence to safety norms and efficient resource use remained central to progress.
Looking forward, he said Singareni is entering new areas, including critical minerals, renewables, and allied industries. He stressed the need to anticipate changes in the energy sector. Furthermore, he reaffirmed SCCL’s commitment to social responsibility, employment, and regional development.
Krishna Bhaskar also acknowledged the growing participation of women in mining and rescue operations. He described this as a sign of positive transformation in the company’s culture.
He concluded with confidence in the company’s path. According to him, mutual trust and strategic direction will ensure Singareni’s sustainability in a changing industrial environment.
