Hyderabad: Telangana Minister Thummala Nageswara Rao criticised BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao over his HYDRAA remarks, saying his comments against the agency were meaningless.
Responding to KTR’s statement, the Minister said those who had “already sunk in the Bay of Bengal” could not claim they would throw HYDRAA into the Bay of Bengal.
Meanwhile, he said Telangana continued to face a 30% rainfall deficit despite the onset of the monsoon. He added that the State was witnessing a natural calamity not seen in the past 150 years.
HYDRAA remarks amid rainfall concerns
Furthermore, Thummala Nageswara Rao said the impact of El Niño would continue through August, September and October. He said the government was informing people in villages about the situation and coordinating relief measures across all departments.
Additionally, the Minister said farmers were cultivating rainfed crops. He described the growing preference for oil palm cultivation as a positive development.
Referring to the Congress grievance programme, Thummala Nageswara Rao said people were visiting Gandhi Bhavan with confidence to present their problems. Accordingly, the government was forwarding complaints to the concerned officials and seeking reports on the action taken.
He also said the Congress had introduced a public interaction programme that no other political party had organised. Finally, he thanked Telangana PCC president Mahesh Kumar Goud for conducting the initiative.
