Hyderabad: The Commissioner’s Task Force, Charminar Zone, and Balapur Police arrested three interstate ganja peddlers and seized 22.22 kg ganja near Sadat Nagar Bus Stop in Shaheen Nagar, Balapur. Police also seized four mobile phones, two trolley bags and a backpack. The total value of the seized property is about ₹12 lakh.
The arrested persons were identified as Mirza Jaffer Baig alias Saddam (35), Awad Bin Ali Yafai alias Awad (22) and Sardar Manpreet Singh Dhillon alias Dhillon (22), all residents of Hyderabad.
During interrogation, the accused admitted that they procured the contraband from Berhampur in Odisha and transported it to Hyderabad for distribution. To avoid police detection, they travelled by train up to Khammam and completed part of the journey by bus.

Meanwhile, investigators found that the accused were waiting to deliver the contraband to a customer when the police intercepted them.
Further investigation revealed the involvement of Ibrahim Bin Saleem Baamar alias Ibrahim Baamar of Balapur. Police alleged that he arranged the procurement and transportation of the ganja. They also identified Janni alias Sunny of Berhampur, Odisha, as the suspected supplier.
However, Ibrahim Baamar and Janni remain absconding. Police said efforts are underway to trace and arrest both suspects.
