Hyderabad: Balapur Police arrested a 21-year-old man for allegedly killing a woman of the same age after an argument in the Bismillah Colony murder case late Sunday night. Police identified the deceased as Rehana and the accused as Ahmed Salam. Both reportedly worked at the same function hall.
According to preliminary police information, Ahmed and Rehana had been in a relationship for about a year. Moreover, Rehana had allegedly stayed with Ahmed in Bismillah Colony for the past three months.
Police said an argument broke out between them late Sunday night. Subsequently, Ahmed allegedly attacked Rehana with a knife, killing her.
Bismillah Colony murder accused allegedly put body in sack
After the killing, Ahmed allegedly placed Rehana’s body inside a sack. Police said he then called his employer and told him that he had killed Rehana. The employer immediately contacted police through Dial 100.
Balapur Police rushed to Ahmed’s residence after receiving the information. However, the accused allegedly tried to escape when officers arrived. He then hid on the rooftop, according to police. Officers searched the premises and found Ahmed on the terrace. They subsequently arrested him in connection with the Bismillah Colony murder.
Bismillah Colony murder investigation underway
Police took custody of Rehana’s body and sent it to a hospital for a post-mortem examination. Meanwhile, Balapur Police registered a case and launched an investigation.
Investigators sought to establish the exact motive behind the killing. They also examined the events leading to the argument and the subsequent attack. Police continued their investigation to establish the complete sequence of events surrounding the killing.
